1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide when creating an account via Google or Apple sign-in: your name, email address, and profile photo. Your username is automatically derived from your display name or email with a 4-digit suffix. We also collect goal data, bet history, and any photos you submit as goal proof. Profile photos are stored in Firebase Storage.

2. Health Data

With your permission, HabitBet accesses Apple HealthKit data in two contexts:

  • At goal creation: We query your last 90 days of activity history to calculate a baseline for setting opening market odds. This data is used in-session and not stored on our servers.
  • At market resolution: We query HealthKit to verify whether your goal was completed within the deadline.

The specific HealthKit data types we request permission to read are:

  • Workouts
  • Walking + Running Distance
  • Cycling Distance
  • Swimming Distance
  • Step Count
  • Active Energy Burned

HealthKit data is processed on-device. We do not sell or share health data with third parties.

3. Push Notifications

If you grant notification permission, we collect and store your device push notification token on our servers. We use it to send you alerts when someone bets against your goal, when a market you participated in resolves, when you win a payout, and as a deadline reminder 24 hours before your goal expires. You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to operate HabitBet: creating and resolving markets, calculating payouts, maintaining your reputation score and win streak, and sending push notifications. We do not use your data for advertising.

5. Photo Proof and AI Verification

Photos submitted as goal proof are sent to Claude AI (Anthropic) for verification. Claude scores confidence and returns a result; the photo is not retained by Anthropic beyond the API call. Photos may be retained temporarily by HabitBet during market resolution and deleted thereafter. By submitting a photo, you confirm you have the right to share it.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with service providers necessary to operate the platform: Google Firebase for authentication, database, and file storage; Anthropic for AI-based photo verification. We share data with authorities only as required by law.

7. Data Retention and Deletion

You may delete your account at any time from the Settings screen. Upon deletion, your personal data is removed within 30 days. Anonymized aggregate market and bet data may be retained for platform integrity.
